In return for Stroman the Blue Jays get a SS they can plug into their lineup from day one in Mauricio Dubon, as well as their shortstop of the future in Brice Turang (son of former major leaguer Brian Turang to continue their theme of constructing a lineup with MLB bloodlines). The nephew of Andy Ashby, LHP Aaron Ashby is a 21-year old pitching prospect currently very much on rise. Add in another player on the brink of the majors in outfielder Tyrone Taylor. If the Blue Jays are dead set on receiving high end pitching in return for Stroman than this won’t likely be their package of choice, but if they are looking for commensurate value in prospects than this deal seems fair.

Remember that the Blue Jays have Bo Bichette lined up as their future SS, so I wouldn’t think they would need a SS prospect as the lead piece in a Stroman return.

That’s a good point on Bichette assuming he sticks at SS. A more attractive offer for the Blue Jays may be Lutz in place of Turang as well as add in a pitcher like RHP Zack Brown to go along with Ashby. I could see Corey Ray being worked into a Stroman deal as well. In the long run I agree that teams like Atlanta or Houston probably matchup better.
