  1. Cleveland trades both Bauer and Hand – Atlanta must trade top prospects Pache with either Wright or Anderson. Even the values that this sites uses shows the values don’t match. No deal.

I want to reaffirm that, in the 2nd/3rd best farm in baseball, both Wilson and Allard are top 10 prospects and Jenista is top 15. Then you add a long term control, at/above average MLB player for multiple positions.

Hand was acquired for the top prospect of the 20th ranked team with 1 more year of control than he has now. There is literally zero chance the Braves give up their #1 prospect for 1.5 years of control of Bauer and 1 fewer year of Hand than he cost.

  2. Francisco Meija was the #26 prospect of all of baseball according to MLB.com at the time of the Hand trade. Hand has pitched even better this year. To 2.5 years of Hand, you want to add 1.5 of a legit major league pitcher in Trevor Bauer and the only top 100 prospect you are offering is Bryce Wilson #73 according again to MLB.com.

I argue that 2.5 years of Hand and 1.5 years of Bauer are worth more than 3.5 years of Hand. Remember also that if these players are made available, more teams will be bidding driving the price even higher.

With that said, I don’t see the Indians trading Hand this year. I don’t see Bauer being traded either unless they fall out of the playoff race.
