    An intriguing blockbuster. I can see it making sense from both teams’ perspectives, but I suspect the Indians would prefer a higher-end pitching prospect in the mix.

  2. Yes, it is intriguing. I agree that the Indians would prefer a higher end pitcher instead of James and Stubbs. With Cleveland in contention for the Wild Card and gaining ground on the Twins, they might find it hard to trade Bauer and Hand, especially with the injury to Corey Kluber and the illness of Carlos Carrasco. I am sure the Indians will take it down to the deadline to see if they are still in playoff contention and still gaining on the Twins. That will have them keep Hand. They will also wait to see what is happening with Carrasco and Kluber. That might make them keep Bauer and trade him in the offseason. Still many questions to answer for the Tribe. With all that said, Alvarez would be a big bat that the Indians could use.
