This is a sensible trade for both teams. My only quibble is that I could see the O’s opting more for one slightly higher-level prospect rather than a package of three lottery tickets.
It depends on how the O’s approach the deadline, they got a lot of guys for Machado since their farm system was weak and they needed new faces, but the approach could be different. If they want someone better than maybe Eiermann could be the guy, he is struggling, but still has upside. For Oakland I believe Cashner would be a plan C or D if they can’t land MadBum or Wheeler, but this is a good alternative for someone, who wants to keep the farm strong.
