Just throwing this out there, Robles is undervalued by this rating system, and I would not be surprised to see the Angels sell on Robles and try to spin a waiver claim from last year into a couple prospects.
So you happened to catch Robles before we updated his midseason numbers. He’s gone up to 0.5 median. So it’s not that he was undervalued before, it’s that the data hadn’t yet reflected his improved performance.
But I think Holmes might be a bit of an overpay even so.
I would say a prospect like Holmes is a fair trade for Robles. I doubt we’ll see any obvious rip off trades like last year with Familia for Wahl/Toffey. Robles has had a good career aside from a one year stretch in 17-18 which caused the Mets to release him. The Angels seem to have fixed whatever was wrong, and Robles still has 2.5 years of control. He’s a solid candidate to get picked up by a contender looking for an 8th inning reliever.
