Red Sox hands are tied. Devers is not worth $300 million. Not sold on the defense at all and just look at his build. kinda doughy. What is he going to look like at 31 let alone 35. Tough pill to swallow but the smart play is to trade him.
I like this if the Red Sox can’t get Devers extended, I doubt the Diamondbacks do though. This could be revisited at the deadline if the Diamondbacks are contending and the Red Sox aren’t. If Devers gets moved I doubt it’s before the deadline.
