$32M is Braves taking Bauer off the Dodgers hands which allows them to get well below the luxury tax threshold and sets the Dodgers up for FA players next year (Ohtani).

The Braves get one year of Bauer that they have to put up with and a whole bushel of controllable young pitching that they need badly going forward.

Big gamble for the Braves. But if Bauer wants to continue playing he will need to be on best behavior. And, essentially, best that I can tell, he was accused for having rough sex that didn’t constitute enough to cross the line requiring charges. I’m of the belief that one is innocent until proven guilty in this Country. I’m not saying he did not do anything. I’m not saying he did. I just know the law declined to prosecute. He may just be a very unlikable dude who was targeted for some cash and he had made himself such a pariah that MLB was fine throwing the beat down on him. But I notice no criminal case and ALSO no civil case, which to me is telling.
