I probably wouldn’t do this if I was the Phillies. I don’t like trading Crawford before he establishes his value and I think McGarry has higher upside than Barlow, even if he ends up being a reliever.
McGarry could be in the Phillies pen as early as the midpoint of the 2023 season if he focuses on two (FB/SL) of his four pitches. If that turns out to be the way he can reduce the free passes (approaching 6/9IP and way down), then the Phillies would have a monster like the Mets (Edwin Diaz) and Guardians (Emmanuel Clase) have at the back of their pens, respectively.
Agree, Justin Crawford should not be moved at this point.. He’s one of three Phillie OF’ers that need to be developed over the next two seasons. The age and slowing of Bryce, Bam-Bam and Marsh… the Phillies are going to need to take care of these guys so they can be productive, offensively, at least..
I would not either because the Phillies got Kimbrel ,Soto ,Dominguez and Alvarado and also the Mets has waivers with Connor Brogdon and 3 pitcher in the trade ,Right now The Phillies has 7 pitchers and also I would not trade Crawford because developing him. Lastly MccGary is getting called up soon.
The trade works on paper but after the moves the Phillies have already made to sure up the bullpen this is not very necessary. This definitely could have been a trade in the early part of the off-season. Generally speaking, this is definitely a good trade for the Royals. Great return for that package of players.

If this was a deal at the beginning of the offseason, I think Phillies fans would jump all over it, but since the end of the WS the Phillies added Kimbrel, Soto, Strahm, and Walker. Added depth in Marte, Ortiz, Uelmen, Vasequez, and Duplantier. And they have triple-digit guys ready to contribute in the minors. There is really not a current need that would warrant using MiLB piece at this time.
If injuries happen, I could see the Phillies visit a trade like this during the season, but I also expect Crawford to demonstrate what made him a top pick this year, and if he does his value will shoot up. In addition, if injuries do happen, I could see McGarry being called upon to fill in some of those MLB innings.
So, while I think Barlow and Staumont are names I think the Phillies should and will be interested in during the 2023 season, I don’t think it will be for Crawford and McGarry.

I agree maybe at this point just go with Barlow for McGarry straight up
I wouldn’t do that
No way any team would trade 3 MLB relievers at once.
