Cubs fortify areas of need, MLB ready starting and relief pitching. In return Madrigal goes to Cleveland, who also receives a promising young arm in Wicks. The rebuilding Nationals trade “older” players for a young top 100 prospect in Freeman.

Cleveland would be very open to this idea on paper.. Not sure about anyone else though…

I give it an up vote, but I’d prefer to flip Madrigal or replace him in the deal. Does that seem feasible? The big get here is Meneses, but Wicks is nice as well.

In the real world this would be the starting position. We both really want Meneses, so I (as GM) would be willing to restructure this trade. I do like Harvey, but Meneses is the prize, so don’t really care if Harvey is added (which I believe is a trade you’ve offered – Freeman for Meneses). On the Cubs side…I’m a big Madrigal fan. I think he has the upside of Arraez, but hasn’t been healthy to show much. This would only happen pending a Rosario trade, with Gimenez moving to SS, and Madrigal at 2B. I envision Kwan and Madrigal at the top of the order. Man, they would drive pitchers nuts. I really only did the 3 team trade to incorporate those 2 guys, and I do like Wicks, but honestly he was a throw in to balance the scales.
