Obviously a Cardinal fan. Why would Cleveland do this? Answer is that they would not.

For the millionth time, Cleveland has already stated that they are not trading Shane Bieber this offseason. They won the AL Central with the youngest roster in MLB. They also have a top 3 farm system. Nothing here makes the Guardians better. Cleveland signed Emmanuel Clase to a long contract extension. He is a building block to their future and is not going to be traded. Cleveland has two gold Glove winning outfielders in Steven Kwan and Myles Straw. Kwan was third in rookie of the year voting. Cleveland also has Oscar Gonzalez coming off a good rookie season, Will Brennan, who has hit at every minor league level, and prospect George Valera close. Josh Naylor can also play RF as well. They do not need 3 more outfielders. Again, nothing here helps the Guardians. Easy, Easy, Easy no here for the Guardians.

Antonetti stated that they would not be trading Bieber because he is getting an extension offer this spring(along with a few others). When/if Shane declines the offer then all bets are off and I’d be watching how well McKenzie and all of the young SP prospects are doing because their performances will have a say. I’d also keep an eye on them shopping for a SP upgrade over Quantrill, Civale and Plesac. If they deal for someone like Luzardo then prepare yourself for a Bieber trade by the deadline.

Regardless of how that all works out, this deal is stupid and Cleveland would never accept it. These are the type of trades that get posted just to piss people off.
