For Milwaukee to agree: Brewers keep Lauer and swap in Houser/Small..Dodgers keep Busch/Ortiz and swap in Pepiot/Nastrini – OR keep Busch/Stone/Ortiz and add May/Pepiot – OR keep Busch/Miller and add May/Pepiot/Ferguson/Knack – OR keep Busch/Stone and add Vargas/Pepiot/Knack. Lots of options if the Dodgers wanted Burnes.
dodgers have an insane farm system. any of your options could work, along with mine. Out of yours, I’d probably chose swapping Lauer and Houser, with Nastrini instead of Ortiz. i think the Brewers insist on some good hitters. They have 2 studs in this deal with Miller and Stone already, so they”d probably target hitting after those 2
I agree with you and Jmont1 that any of those trade scenarios that you both suggested could work for the Brewers. However, I don’t think the Dodgers would want to give up all that pitching. I do like Busch as part of the trade. He could start the season in AAA and be available in case of injury to Winker and/or Tellez. Winker is a FA in 2024 and Busch takes his place. Tellez becomes a free agent in 2025 and Busch takes over 1B at that point. Currently the Brewers have no one in the top 30 prospects that plays 1B as his prime position.
Stone, Miller and Busch for Burnes I think is realistic for both teams if the Dodgers are confident they can extend Burnes. If Burnes is traded, I’d rather see him go to the American League, but the Dodgers do have the farm system and money to make them a good trading partner. Your Texas Ranger trade has potential if the Brewers feel Jung is going to be an above average hitter. His small sample size from last year’s major league debut wasn’t good but his AAA stats are encouraging.

I hate to say it but the dodger are always a potential trade cannidate for anyone
Oops, sorry GMakd, that Texas trade I referenced wasn’t your trade.
