Cardinal fans – Cleveland has stated that they are not trading Shane Bieber this offseason no matter how many ridiculous trades you folks post. Cleveland easily says no to this.

You do realize i have no authority to make trades? No need for the little bitch fit

Second off, i assume you are a life long indians fan. I would assume you would learn by now that your shit small market organization has zero chance of keeping any meaningful players. Bieber will be traded, whether its this year or next. Unless he is a dumbass like ramirez and accepts a well below market offer extension, he’s gone

Look who is having a little child hissy fit. Did mommy forget to change your diaper? Bieber is not being traded this offseason and that has been stated on here over and over again. That is all that I stated.

Since 2013 – The top 3 winning teams by percentage are the Dodgers, Yankees, and the small market Cleveland Indians/Guardians so your comment on their organization is not only childish, but very ignorant.

I am very aware on how the Guardians have to operate in order to compete in a system that is unfair to small market teams as I have followed them since 1965. I am also very aware at how well operated they are.

Take 5 minutes and look at where the Guardians are currently at. They had the youngest roster in MLB in 2022 and had 17 players make their major league debut. That does not include 4 of their top 5 prospects from their top 3 farm system. They won the AL Central in 2022 with that young roster and took Yankees to game 5. They are a contender this year. Bieber’s stats mean more to them than any trade return. They have several top pitching prospects that some will be ready during the 2023 season and by 2024. Yes, Bieber may be traded after the 2023 season when the organization is more prepared to replace him. They are not going to do it when they can contend.

Remember that any trade made must meet the needs of both teams. Your proposal helps the Cardinals but does not help the Guardians. The Guardians have Gold Glove winners in left and center fields with a young outfielder in right that also had a solid rookie season. They also have Will Brennan that as hit at every level as their 4th outfielder with George Valera at AAA. Where does Carlson, who is coming off a disappointing season and Burleson?
Josh Bell and Josh Naylor will cover 1B and DH many days. Cleveland could use a right-handed bat (OF/1B) that hits lefties well for a part time role, but they aren’t trading Bieber for that.

Grow up, act your age, and try to have a proper baseball discussion. If you don’t want the comments, don’t post.

A a Guardians’ fan I understand your desire for Bieber and I’m not against trading him. In fact, I would have already done so, but in doing so I would need a better SP prospect back than Liberatore. I also think that Carlson’s value here is bloated and I wouldn’t give that much for him, but that’s just my opinion. Conversely you have clearly taken that into consideration when looking at the values so thanks for the thoughtfulness. I just don’t know if the return is a good match for Cleveland. I think Cleveland could get a haul from the Dodgers that the Cardinals would find very difficult, if not impossible to match. Again, just my opinion.

As a side note, CA did mention that Bieber wasn’t being shopped at that time. He’s going to be offered an extension during ST and if he doesn’t accept it then I’m not so sure that he isn’t available. We’ll see.

Antonetti publicly stated Bieber wasn’t available, so that means he isn’t available as long as Cleveland is in the playoff race…

Secondly, Carlson isn’t even a target for Cleveland and if he was, he would be worth half the price. I keep saying if Bieber was available and Carlson was in the deal, Cleveland would want a deal like Carlson, Herrera, Graceffo, McGreevey and likely Flaherty or Yepez… Cleveland wouldn’t take any less so if you don’t like that price then Cleveland keeps Bieber or trades him to the Dodgers who have a better farm and a player they want in Vargas…

      • Big Bat

Enough with “Antonetti publicly stated” bullshit. If you don’t want to converse about then fine, otherwise go converse with someone else about something else that Antonetti didn’t publicly state.

Otherwise no, this is not an ideal return which is what I stated and Antonetti stated that Bieber would not be traded this offseason. He made no mention of an in-season trade. Since the extension offer will likely come during ST, if he refuses it then we go into the regular season wondering.

        • Ty Archy

Dude… If Antonetti says something like that publicly, then it’s a fact and nothing else. He doesn’t ever say that stuff, so when he does, there is no way to argue against it. Not sure why you are…

Also, I do converse by countering with, IF he was available, Cleveland would want this type of deal.. Is that not what I should say?
