The Rays have Glasnow for 2 years, Eflin for 3 years, McClanahan, Rasmussen, and Springs for 5 years. Additionally, top 10 prospect Taj Bradley, and top 100 prospect Mason Montgomery will likely debut in 2023. The Rays don’t need a SP, even one as good as Baz is. They need a top tier C prospect, that doesn’t need on the 40 man roster anytime soon.
The Mets #1 is 39 years old. Their #2 is 41 years old. They don’t need an A ball SP. They need a young MLB ready SP.
