This is how I see it. Yankees open the season with Peraza at SS and he plays great, but the Yankees see Volpe as ready and call him up. At the deadline the Yankees are strong contenders and deal Peraza (and maybe a PTBNL or some cash) to the cost conscious Brewers who are once again on the bubble for playoff spot but are also trying to thread the needle between building an contender and contending this year.
I wonder what the values are at the ‘23 deadline without the cash.
