In light of the Hoskins injury, and the state of the A’s rebuild, I feel like this makes sense for both teams.
The Phillies get a middle of the order left handed hitting 1B/OF who would thrive at CBP
The A’s would receive a top OF prospect, albeit one that is several years away from the majors.

LOL. No chance the Phillies trade Crawford for a 30 year old, defensively challenged, one-year wonder who can’t hit LHP. Brown is a good player for what he brings to the table, but he’s not an everyday player and definitely not worth Justin Crawford in a 1:1 deal.

It’s a really solid deal and something the Phillies should consider. Philly fans won’t like it because outside of Painter and Abel their system is mostly trash but they don’t wanna give up any of it.
Phillies needs to think more like they’re the 3rd best team in the division and the team that was lucky to make the playoffs instead of the team that made the WS.

Agree to disagree. Teams that trade their future stars for complementary pieces almost always regret it. Brown is worth a package of guys like Muzziotti and Wilson, not Crawford straight-up.

Phillies probably seek RH replacement to platoon at 1B. Maybe Hiura or Yuri Gurriel if released.

I think that the phillies are not going to give away a player like this just for overated seth brown.
