This would certainly be a deal the Brewers jump at in the off season or at the deadline if they were completely out of the playoffs. I don’t think they are ready to give up and do it right now though. With Woodruff, Alexander, Ashby hurt and Lauer stinking up the joint, the loss of Burnes would be insurmountable for Milwaukee. Neither Leiter nor White is anywhere close to ready for the big leagues. Leiter is really struggling with his control at AA. Last year he walked 56 in only 92 IPs and this year he’s already walked 17 in only 26 IPs. He’ll be no help at all this year and possibly next until he learns how to throw strikes. White is just starting out in AA and no help until next year at best. Jung is doing ok at 3B for the Rangers (.244/.290/ 33% K ratio). He has done very well against lefties (very, very small sample size) and could play right away.

Jung for Burnes straight up at the deadline might be closer to even then most think, I think. The inclusion of Leiter with Jung would certainly be enough come deadline I feel. And yea, Leiter is having a rough go of it so far this year but I don’t think his number will fall, maybe it does but I think he turns it around. Also don’t think the Rangers trade any of these players. But you never know…..
