The Mariners need hitting, and while Nick Allen isn’t ideal, there is still some potential left in him. Sam Moll hasn’t been reliable for Oakland this year, but maybe he needs a change of environment to improve. Taylor Trammell could be a decent piece in Oakland’s rebuild. But overall this trade shouldn’t hurt either side.

Trammell doesn’t fit into Oakland’s rebuild (such as it is). They need big league at bats to showcase Laureano and Brown when he returns. They also have some interesting OF prospects in AA. It’s his last (listed) option year and I don’t like the idea of stashing him in AAA and then ending up in a Pache-type situation next year.
