Don’t know how Junis is a fit for the Jays other than depth. Estrada looks interesting but the Jays have Merrifield manning 2B now with Espinal and Biggio backing him up. Merrifield has an 18M mutual option with the Jays which they shouldn’t pick up.
Good idea but I think the timing is off. This could be something for the coming offseason.

Just thinking about the deadline, Junis is a swing man/mop up, handy in play offs right. Was reading an article by MLB about what contenders need already and 2nd base was mentioned for the Jays. Giants not out of it either but I think they’ll fade off

The Jays have Mitch White as long/swing man. He’s rehabbing in AAA right now but should be back in a week or so if all goes well.
The article said the Jays need help at 2B? That’s interesting. He has hit for much power but he’s serviceable with the bat and decent with the glove. An upgrade would be OK but finding playing time would difficult.
FWIW, I think the surplus value number on Estrada is low. Nearly 2 fWAR and it’s not June yet is pretty impressive. Add the 3 more years of team control should adjust up his value pretty significantly. Jays might have to part with Kirk if he figures out how to hit again.
