White Sox are likely sellers at the deadline and Giolito is their biggest trade chip. This trade has them sending Giolito and a decent pitching prospect to the Rays for 2 top prospects from the Rays system, with Aranda ready for the Show now (but blocked with the Rays).
Love it. But it’s a seller’s market. I think we will have to significantly overpay for starting pitching. There’s only three or four starters that even move the needle on teams likely to miss the playoffs.
