Westburg is listed as a SS/2B, but I think he could transition to 1B and corner OF as well. His big RH bat would play in Cleveland. We could then have an OF of Kwan in CF with Hays and Westburg at the corners. That would effectively move Straw to 4th OFer where he belongs.
Bradish has some legit upside and getting to Cleveland’s pitching factory could help him real it in a bit, which is all he needs to do.
Fabian is a high ceiling/high risk OF prospect that fits well in Cleveland’s timeline.
This is the type of deal I expect Cleveland to look for and admittedly I’m not sure if Baltimore fans like it or not. They are certainly contenders and adding Bieber could put them over the top. Cleveland will not be dealing for a short term player like Santander so any suggestions thereof are pointless.
Congrats to the O’s fans so far. I love what they’ve done and how they did it. I hope you guys take the Rays down to the wire and both of you leave the Yankees, Red Sox and Blue Jays at home.
It scares me to have a player adapt to a new position and to MLB pitching at the same time. Westburg has 4 games in the OF. If that transition doesn’t work, you’ve wasted the main piece in a Bieber trade. I guess that I would rather trade for an actual RF.
You are much higher on Bradish than I am. We’ve already gone around on this so I will leave it here. I like getting Hays for the today.
I still don’t see Bieber moved this season, unless we are not in contention or are so overwhelmed with the trade return to talk them into pulling the trigger. I think that Baltimore is probably the best match for the Guardians with their near ready prospect strength in the outfield.
