Why would the Braves trade a pretty good SP (albeit with an injury history) and a top 5 prospect for a closer that they don’t need.
I keep hearing from brave fans that their closer is horrible and the pen keeps blowing games, Jays season will be over by the trade deadline plus I want Nate Pearson as the jays closer.
You better stop listening to Braves fans and start looking at the stats. Iglesias has a K% near 30, a BB% under 6 and has blown only one save.
As for Pearson as the closer, you’d have to lose Romano and Swanson. Pearson only made it to the majors this season because someone got injured. Hell Pop made it to the majors before Pearson this season.
Why is Pearson not making the opening day roster relevant here? He has shown in his major league stint this season that he deserves to be either in the closer role or in the set up man role all year.
