  1. Guillermo Gomez

in this trade the Red Sox are getting one of the best pitchers in Shane Bieber with one year left of his contract with the chance to extend him, also getting back a young SP in Tanner Bibee with ace potential & a Good bullpen arm in Enyel de los santos, Guardians will get back three young Righties in Tanner Houck, Kutter Crawford & Nick Pivetta who can be part of their rotation, a Young OF in Wilyer Abreu who has 20 25 HR power potential & a bullpen arm in Josh Winckowski a local Ohio Kid Guardians get to rebuild a little but also be competitive i feel like guardians here are getting a good return this guys are AL east tested they will pitch better in the AL central

      Bibee isn’t available… Cleveland isn’t dealing him…

I doubt there is a single GM in the league that believes Bieber is going to be healthy next year and avoids an extended IL stint. In my opinion he’s un tradable this coming off season, I don’t think it matters at all if he makes a couple starts before the season ends. Phenomenal deal for the Guardians though. But just plain awful for the Red Sox or any other team that trades for Bieber.

    • Ty Archy

Bibee isn’t available, period… There is a reason why he’s going to be #2 or #3 on the ROY ballot…

I also agree, I don’t see Bieber having much value before 24, so it’s not worth it for Cleveland to trade him…

Now if they can find another Kluber for Clase type of deal, Cleveland would think on it, but in all sincerity, it’s hard to see Bieber being traded in 24…

  3. Big Bat

The Guardians nor any other functional MLB team would make this trade.

Watch what the Guardians get for Bieber. No, he obviously isn’t going to bring back nearly what he would have last offseason, but SP is still the most valuable commodity in MLB and Bieber is still a good one even if not the ace he once was. You’d be hard pressed to find a rotation that wouldn’t be improved with a healthy Bieber in it.

    • DJ dajuba

So…sometime in ‘25 or possibly ‘26 if he continues to pitch and at some point next year finally goes down for good and has surgery, comes back a year later, call it August ‘25, so probably not even until ‘26 is when a healthy (31yr old) Bieber could return and be relied upon…….that sounds about right to me, I could see a free agent Bieber auditioning for teams after surgery come July ‘25.

I have no idea why people think Bibee could be available. Makes no sense.

      • Big Bat

You could be right or just as likely you’re wrong. We’ll know more shortly and Cleveland’s FO screwed this team by not dealing Bieber last offseason. It’ll take me a while to get over that one. Anyway, if Bieber has no value right now(he doesn’t) then what’s the point of trading him for equal value which is 0?

P.S. If you want to continue to talk about injuries then there is an entire list of Red Sox in this deal that should have discussion around them as well. As you stated, why in the hell would anybody think Bibee is available? Only an unrealistic homer would make a deal like this for him.
