Brewers say no thanks. The Brewers don’t have the money to re-sign all their arby players. Reality of a small market team. Money is the reason Milwaukee is trading Burnes. Alonso is a rental and will be more expensive than Burnes. Megill (career 4.86 ERA/4.71 FIP) isn’t close to what the Brewers would want for pitching. He’s been even worse this year (5.04 ERA/5.17 FIP/1.64 WHIP/more hits than IPs/4.5 BBs per 9). Mauricio is a nice prospect, but Milwaukee needs pitching more than position players in any trade for Burnes. The Mets just aren’t a good fit for the Brewers’ needs.
