    Wow, this is about as far off a valuation as we’ve seen here. I’ve added cash for validation purposes only. We’ll go back and check our numbers, but at first glance it looks like the key is that we were way off on Urias, relying way too much on his top prospect value.

      I don’t necessarily think it means your Simulator is incorrect. Bad deals happen, and GMs make different valuations beyond just fWAR projections and salary.

      If the Kelly Blue Book says my car is worth $10,000 and I can only get $5,000 for it, it doesn’t mean the Blue Book was wrong.

        I agree. Nonetheless, we always double-check our inputs when matching up real-life trades, to see if we missed anything.

    I mean, A.J. Preller is the same guy that gave Eric Hosmer a Brinks truck worth of cash.

    It’s entirely possible that he just made a pretty dumb trade.
