I think there is just too much upside in Alonso for the Mets to swing this. In reality, they get a far inferior replacement at first, a good arm for the rotation and an outfielder that might be just as lost in the lineup as he already is. It kind of feels like the Yankees lose Severino and some expendable pieces for an All-Star and I can’t see that flying.
