Angels get Francisco Lindor for SS Jeremiah Jackson Baseball America Top No. 4 Prosoect, Ty Buttrey Reliever who can close for the future, Jordyn Adams OF Baseball America Top No. 3 Prospect, Adam Placencia 2B Baseball America Top No. 24 Prospect, Chris Rodriguez RHSP Baseball America Top No. 5 Prospect, and Jose Soriano RHSP Baseball America Top No. 7 Prospect in Angels Farm System. Francisco Lindor is a free agent in 2021 if they can’t reach a long term contract they can place a Qualifying Offer on him and get Compensation Drafr Pick. He might have been the Angels target when available.

    • John Furlong

Cleveland will not trade Lindor for just a package of prospects. Look back at their recent trades for an example for a Lindor trade. Besides the prospect package in each trade, the Indians acquired a rental in Puig and 5 years of Framil Reyes for Bauer, Deshields and 6 years of Enmanuel Clase for Kluber, and 5 years of Josh Naylor and Cal Quantrill in the Clevinger trade. Reyes and Naylor will continue to be a part of future lineups, Clase will join Karinchak to form the back end of their bullpen, and Quantrill could help the bullpen or starting rotation. All are controllable players plus the prospects. There will be a controllable MLB ready piece back to the Indians in any Lindor trade as well. The Indians are not planning a rebuild.

Any Lindor trade with the Angels will likely include OF Brandon Marsh as OF is Cleveland’s biggest need.
