  1. Cleveland currently has three center fielders that are glove first that aren’t hitting. They do not need another one in Bader. This makes little sense for the Indians. Bader is not worth five years of Civale.

I admit I liked my iteration of this deal where the Indians get Austin Meadows as a much better fit for this deal.

Why do the Cardinals need a 30 year old catcher?
Why do the Indians need a .210 hitting OF’er over his last two season..

We all know why the Red Sox want Civale..

This is a deal that makes BTV sense.. very little sense IRL..

    HARD PASS

Why wouldn’t the Cardinals want a 30 yo catcher? They haven’t had one that young since 2013. If Molina goes, Vazquez does make sense for them, and they were a post-season team last year that hasn’t finished below 3rd in the NL central since 2008. They’re not rebuilding and a few years away; they are going to put the best team they can on the field in 2021, even if it means taking a few players who are not all building blocks for 2021. Of the 3 teams in this deal, they are not the one who I think questions this return.

The Red Sox would probably go for this trade. Would Clevland or St. Louis go for this trade? Wong and Piawecki could function for a year. The Red Sox could trade for Mejia.
