I disagree. This leaves a big hole for the Reds, losing Geno, our #4 power hitter for replacement level players in a salary dump move is not how I believe the Reds want to reload. The Reds are NOT in a full on rebuild. Suarez is an affordable piece the Reds need to hold on to. If they want to move Geno, they need top prospects in return.

The Reds and not trading Suarez for Davis (which is what this trade is).
    No thinks.

  2. Will M

Just because JD Davis becomes expendable doesn’t mean the Reds want him. They’d be much more tempted with a younger player with more service time remaining.

  3. jeff blackwell

This is what to expect when you shop Castillo and Sonny Gray.

This is a less costly way for Mets to acquire a affordable cot on slugging 3B vs. FA

Davis is only 60% of the return value, Ginn has SP potential

Reds need help at SS — so its seems fair enough

      • Alex DUbya

it’s still relatively SSS, but the consensus is that he is a below average defender. 2019 was a bit flukey because he had some mental miscues in his first few games and he lost runs on his arm (which is really his only saving grace at 3B or in the OF).

He’d likely be solid at 1B (which isn’t open) and would grade out as poor to average at 3B and LF

  4. Riley Goodrich

Additionally, Shogo has re-tooled his swing this off-season. If the Reds want to trade off diminished returns, Mike Moustakas is the contract to unload.
