Cardinals should know what they have in Bader at this point. Lane Thomas is still a mystery with upside. This trade would open up a spot for Thomas as the everyday CF while filling the need for a middle of the order LH bat with Peralta. If Thomas stinks Carlson is able to shift from RF to CF and can hold his own there defensively. The Diamondbacks get one of the leagues premier defensive CFs in Bader. They can shift Varsho over to Left or play Pavin Smith in Left. Tyler Webb adds a solid situational lefty reliever that the Diamondbacks need. The Cardinals add a some interesting prospects to offset Bader’s value and Peralta’s cost. The Cardinals need offense and gamble on Lane Thomas being equal or better than Bader in CF.
