With Bryant likely to be a 1 year player with the Mets in this scenario, I don’t see them parting with both Baty & Vientos as they are both 3B prospects. Right idea, but I think one of the 3B’s gets swapped out here.

The Mets are going to need to extend Lindor and hopefully Conforto. I know Steve Cohen has billions, but the Mets have indicated a desire to stay under the luxury tax threshold. Of course, 2021 is the last year of the current CBA, so who knows if a luxury tax will even exist for the ’22 season.

That would be interesting. How would they fine the Salary Cap then everyone will sped ridiculous amounts

There has to be a floor for spending. Teams spending 35 mill on a whole team is nuts when Cole is making that himself. There is no good reason why a pitcher like Odorizzi isn’t signed on January 29th.

As for Bryant, and any other free agent after the ’21 season, I would be leery on big money getting thrown around, especially if attendance restrictions (or prohibitions) remain in place during the upcoming season.
