As it turns out, the Reds did NOT get Jonathan Villar, leaving the starting SS job unfilled for Cincy. The Indians, seem willing to trade Rosario after just acquiring him for Lindor, and they need another outfielder despite signing Eddie Rosario. This trade would fill both team’s greatest needs and give the Indians another outfield prospect to go towards their future outfield. Thoughts?

Hmm.. a one-fer… With the current 40 man roster being packed.. this would cost the Indians an additional player or one of the guys returning will require the tribe to expose either the throw in pitcher or Siani to waiver.. or someone already on the forty man.. In as much as the Indians will be looking to clear or maintain 40 man spots during the 2021 season..this is a good time to make most of the deal you have in mind work while getting a return that might end up being more useful.. This deal, a three for one.. costs at least one of those 40 man spots..

What may make this deal more valuable to everyone and in consideration of the Reds receiving the most valuable player in the deal.. expand the deal to add a guy who really has some value..

Reds get Amed Rosario (7.8), Ernie Clement (3.8) and Richie Palacios (1.3) = 13.9
Indians get Reece Hinds (7.0), Mike Siani (5.3) and Aristides Aquino (2.0) = 14.3

    thoughts?..

I hadn’t thought of 40 man at this point. Your trade iteration makes sense, both numbers-wise, and return wisely. Hinds can play 3B and outfield and would be a nice addition to this trade. Clement’s on the 40 man, and Palacios is pretty close. Hats off to you!

I’d rather just keep Rosario if this is the best the Indians can do. The Reds need a shortstop…if they want one
they need to give up something that moves the needle. This doesn’t do much for me. Gsons deal would be better in my mind…
at least you get two lottery shots in Hinds and Siani.
