I think this trade assumes the Guardians see themselves as not contending for the next few years.

First, I assure you that Cleveland sees themselves as a contender. Second, they are loaded with middle infielders system wide so I don’t see Urias as a target. Finally, I don’t see Cleveland trading Ramirez.

You want Cleveland to part with Ramirez then you’re gonna have to overpay and this deal is the opposite. I wish these silly Ramirez deals where appears Cleveland is looking to get rid of Ramirez any way they can would stop. They’re dumb and contribute nothing to constructive conversation.

I can see where the Cleveland fans comments are coming from but ironically, I don’t think the Brewers would want to do this trade. It appears that Urias seems to be the 3B choice for the near future. His 20+ homers is a good fit at 3B and his defense at 3B was much better then at short. His small salary will also help the Brewers as their 2022 anticipated salary is expected to be higher then 2021. The minor league prospects included in this trade are just to valuable to include in this trade, even for a talent like Ramirez. Small could help the Brewers as soon as next year.
