The Mariners were surprisingly competitive this season, putting up a 90-72 record, good for second in the AL West, behind only the juggernaut Houston Astros. The Astros could potentially lose Correa, Verlander, Greinke, Gurriel, and Maldonado. The Mariners smell blood in the water. If they want to push the Astros out of the way and take the AL West crown, they’ve gotta make some moves. Getting Kyle Lewis back is an addition itself, but one of the biggest holes on the Mariners roster is second base and until Julio Rodriguez is ready, they have an open outfield spot assuming they trade Haniger. Gleyber Torres and Clint Frazier have struggled in New York recently. Perhaps a change of scenery could benefit both of them. The Yankees have a pretty crowded rotation so using this surplus and two struggling players, they could acquire a borderline star in Mitch Haniger and a solid bench player in Jake Fraley. This trade would benefit both sides, solving problems on both sides and giving both of them greater chances to win the division. An outfield of Haniger, Gallo, and Judge in the Bronx with Stanton DHing? It’s a scary thought. A lot of pop. Thoughts?

Mariners fan here. Thanks for thinking of us!
I don’t see the appeal for the Yankees. Haniger is a bad defender at this point and Fraley amounts to a 5th or 6th OF behind Judge, Gallo, Stanton, Haniger and Hicks. They need some athletes so if they’re selling out for a one-year OF, I imagine it would be Buxton.
For the M’s, it does make sense on paper for the next couple years, but Haniger just wrote a piece for the Players Tribune that fired up the M’s fanbase so much that they might revolt if the team doesn’t resign him, let alone trades him.

Lewis will be coming off his knee injury Haniger seems to possibly be coming into a key roll for Seattle Moore was horrible at the plate so LF could be a spot for Frayley so with Lewis a question and Moore a question probably be better to hold on to Frayley and Haniger
