Here’s my second version of a possible Mets/Brewers trade with a slight change. I see Mark Vientos as a perfect fit for Milwaukee at 1B. He’s not too far away now, and having watched him firsthand, I can tell you that he has pop that rivals Alonso’s. As far as Jeff McNeil goes, he’s enough of a versatile player that would fill in well in that corner OF. I see 2021 as an abberation for McNeil, as he decided to move away from the approach that has done him well over the last few years to hit for more power. Expect a bounce back 2022 from him.

Brewers laugh and hang up. McNeil is a backup player. No help. Peterson would be in the minors. No help. Vientos is a good prospect that strikesout a ton, but still in the minors and nowhere near what the Brewers would be looking for in a Hader trade. The Brewers weaken themselves tremendously and get no immediate help. Their GM would be fired on the spot if he made this deal.

Why do you have to be so rude when giving a response? You can say that you disagree with the trade without being insulting about it.

HAHAHAHA. Alonso for a closer? Don’t know if you noticed, but the Wilpons are gone.

Mets fans. like Yankees fans grossly over exaggerate their teams players, McNeill, Davis and Smith are not
all stars, Hadar is two time all star… A trade that includes him and Alonso- in addition to others on both sides seems realistic. Similar to Tankees pushing Torres and Anduhar. New York fans must be smoking some great weed.

Did you seriously refer to Jeff McNeil, a guy who has hit .319/.383/.501/.884 prior to 2021, as a “backup player”? That asinine statement says a lot about you.
