Cleveland doesn’t need “outfield help”. They need lineup help, and while Garcia’s power is impressive it is overshadowed by his SO rate. Texas clearly gets the best player in this deal while also coming out on top in excess value. This is a quick no for any good GM. Tagging a low minors 1B/3B prospect that isn’t even rated well in Texas’ system does nothing but hampers this deal. Cleveland would be more inclined to trade Plesac straight up for Jung, but I seriously doubt that would happen either.
Why not? Rangers need pitching help, Cleveland needs outfield help. Thoughts?
