Minor overpay, high probability it will be accepted, it fits the needs for the Padres after the Luke Voit trade. It gives them a good hitting fringe average defensive left fielder and can also play second base from the Texas Rangers. And a flamethrower lefty from the Boston Red Sox Darwinzon Hernandez. The Rangers get SS Victor Acosta from the Padres and RHP Demarcus Evans from the Boston Red Sox. The Texas Rangers receive SS Jackson Merrill from the Padres and 2B Sánchez from the Red Sox. This deal will have to fit the needs of the Red Sox and Rangers for it to happen.
