queensburykid I think you finally have a winner. The Brewers would hate to lose Weimer, but IMO the jump at the chance to get XB and Taylor. Bogaerts gives them a big hitter and losing Cain’s contract makes it affordable for Milwaukee. Taylor could help in the pen.

I am starting to think that some teams’ fans are too limited by thinking about their teams’ proscepts and money. This is the best kind of trade that the Brewers are going to get. There is virtually no Brewer money being added, so there goes Brewers fans’ chief complaint. Boegarts is possible game changer who isn’t being given for nothing. Braves and Brewers fans are nearly impossible to with.

queensbury: aautry complimented you. He LIKED the trade. I too like this a lot. I believe Milwaukee would do this very quickly before the Red Sox realized what they are getting. The Brewers only take on about $4M so it’s doable plus they get Taylor through 2025. You are a Red Sox fan and money is nothing because the Sox can go out and spend whatever they want and buy what they need. The Brewers are the smallest MLB market and finances is huge for them. Reality for them is McCutchen instead of Freeman or Castellanos.

Brewers money woes due to Yellich deal, should realize opportunity is short, no way they play next yer with Burnes, Woodall and Hadar. Two of them will be gone. Its this year or regress, cant think Cubs, Reds going to be bad forever.

Doesn’t Bogaerts have the ability to opt out of his contract at the end of this year? Would the Brewers give up 3 good prospects in order to have him only for the remainder of this year? Bogaerts would fit the Brewers perfectly in 2023 and beyond at 3B and moving Urias to 2B and not picking up Wong’s $10MM option. No doubt the Brewers could use Bogaerts bat in the lineup this year in some capacity, and Taylor is a good addition. I guess I’m just asking if Sterns would give up these 3 prospects for having Bogaerts just to finish the year? I’m also assuming Adames is only out with the ankle injury for a week or so.
