For the Giants to maximize the return on their pieces, it would be wise to trade Will Smith and Bumgarner in separate deals. Smith alone should net a top 100 prospect as an impact closer.
Dyson seems like the under the radar pickup the A’s like to make. The A’s also need rotation depth, and Bumgarner has a great resume. Watson is another rental piece for the pen.
The Giants are years away from contending and Beck is the type of high ceiling prospect who will be appealing to Zaidi. Holmes and Kaprielian provide pitchers who could be in the terrible SF rotation as early as next year.
