  1. Big Bat

Pilkington is not a LHRP. He’s a SP and was only used out of the BP because of Cleveland’s SP depth. He’s always been a SP and I think he could be a pretty good, durable BOR starter for somebody.

I’d be willing to add more or replace one of these guys with a better prospect.

  2. Marc Guarino

Hate giving up on Curry this soon. He jumped from A ball in 2021 to MLB spot starts last year. I think he was rushed and I would give him more time to develop. I just think this is an underwhelming return for a guy who could be a 3 or 4. Maybe send him in a larger trade for an impact guy, but this isn’t that.

  3. Eli Kov

The only way this deal gets any consideration is if the Guardians add in their competitive balance lottery A selection.. The numbers may match.. but this is anything but a fair exchange.. As presented:

Pilk is a tweener = Longman / LHRP v. Starter
Xzavion has a ceiling as a BOR SP.. more likely, his stuff plays up better in shorter stints..
Lavas had a miserable year w/ pains and performance..

In short, this is a pretty bad bucket of &*^$ being offered to the DBax for what may be their best source of power, a reasonable starting ML backstop and a smaller, less talented clone of Xzavion in the younger Kelly..

FWIW, the DBax can keep both Kellys in this deal.. if all it takes to get the two years of walker are these three suspects..

& what this deal is all about, anyway.

the DBax offer a HARD PASS…
