This is interesting, and all three pieces the Tigers are getting have some upside, but they’re also all having pretty mediocre years. I’m pretty sure another team could top this offer easily.
Honestly surprised Boyd is only valued at 34.4. I think it would probably take India to land him unless the secondary pieces to match with Santillan are worth taking quantity over quality.
Boyd’s value is low because he was never a can’t-miss prospect and this is his first above-average year in the big leagues. If he continues to produce, his value will rise. That being said, he’s the best controllable arm on the market, and I could see a bidding war bringing his cost closer to his “High” value of 39.4.
