Most of Wright’s value comes from his minor league success and prospect rankings, but he’s really struggled since he made his MLB debut last season, so this deal would really hinge on Seattle’s belief in him going forward. They also have no need for Matt Joyce whatsoever, unless they’d be trying to flip him after the deal. I think if the Braves make a big trade like this, it’s more likely to be for rotation help.
Yeah I don’t believe Braves are in the Market for any type of Corner OF spot at all… We have 2 very high ranked OF prospects (#14 and #44) in top 100 raking in Minors as we speak and probably are only a year or 2 at most of being in the majors. They wouldn’t block them and currently at this time they have no need for a OF spot to be filled this season. Joyce has been a major contributor on the team as well from the Bench and I’m sure Braves are happy with keeping him doing what he’s been doing.
