The other pieces are really interesting, but Dalbec just wouldn’t interest Toronto. A lot of his value comes from playing a pretty solid third base and they’re set there with Vlad Jr. The Red Sox are probably better off making bullpen upgrades and maybe a lower-end starter like Tanner Roark.
The Blue Jays would have zero interest in Dalbec, correct. Substituting Tristan Casas solves this and doesn’t change the value much, but the big issue is that Toronto is likely to want pitching. Hernandez is a nice start, but his control issues limit his appeal. And Shawaryn just isn’t an attention grabber. He’s s middle reliever starting AAA games.
Wouldn’t even get the convo started!!! GET REAL!!!
Unfortunately for the Red Sox, they just don’t have the prospect capital to swing this high.
They don’t have the prospects to get any quality player…
