  1. The Indians are still in the playoff hunt in the AL. They are currently in a wild card spot and have cut the Twins lead in the AL Central more than half. They also have 13 games left with the Twins. I don’t see the Indians trading two members of their bullpen that they control for 2.5 years or more. It is likely that they will not trade Trevor Bauer unless the trade makes them better in 2019. Inciarte, while a good fielding center fielder, is not the hitter the Indians need to get if they trade Bauer. The Indians have a young center fielder, Oscar Mercado, that is doing well with the bat and in the field. Any trade the Indians make need to help them in 2019 and beyond. This proposal does not do that.
