  1. Cleveland is in contention for a playoff spot this year and in 2020. This trade does not help them in 2019 and I doubt it does in 2020.

    • Richard Kaelin

If the Indians are playoff bound, you are correct about 2019; however, this trade would be of significant future benefit and save many millions.

  2. Again, this trade does not help the Indians in 2019 and in 2020. We know that Lindor is a superstar and Bieber keeps getting better. They both have proven that they can play in the majors. Can you guarantee that Anderson, Pache, and Contreras are ready and productive in 2020? No you can’t. Doing this trade would show that the Indians would be giving up on 2019 and 2020 when they control strong MLB starting pitching. You don’t quit when you are in contention. That does not make sense, especially for a small market team like the Tribe. The time is now for the Braves. I understand that. Now is also time for the Indians.

  3. Also a small market team does not trade 5 years of a solid, successful starting pitcher. They are the players that you build around, not trade.

  4. Lance Hulsey

You got to be just having fun with a tool and not actually serious about some of these deals because this one make no sense either of these teams.

    – Braves swapping Swanson (3 1/2 Arb) years for Lindor (2 1/2 Arb) years when Swanson has emerged to be producing a similar line of production as Lindor has last year and on-going this year? I.Anderson clock hasn’t even started yet and he should be at minimum a solid #2-3 starter in MLB and Pache who’s one of the top prospect in baseball
-Cleveland still competing for a wild card and battling to get back in the Division race I don’t really envision them being sellers and especially to basically their current #1 starter with all that control.

But it’s fun to play around I suppose
