Brewers rid themselves of $162.5M commitment to Yelich in exchange for $46M commitment on Ozuna and Rosario. The rest of the trade looks like: Williams, Frelick and Wiemer for Anderson plus the difference in cash saved (162.5-46= $116.5M).
As much as I would want the Braves to suggest/accept this trade, I think the Brewers disagree x2. That’s some great salary relief for them, but losing Williams signals too much of a white flag and/or wasting a trade asset just to offload a sunk cost.
Then replace Williams with Bill Contreras. Braves would take him back and Brewers got him for virtually nothing in the three way.
I love the irony. I just posted your suggestion, even bumping up from Ian Anderson to Elder.
