First let me say thank god Devers resigned so I don’t have to see any Devers trades in mass quantity on this site for a while 🤣

This will be my last attempt at a Kim trade to Boston. Kim for Houck straight up doesn’t work because of the difference in years of control. This trade evens years of control at 8 on each side. More fathomable from a Boston perspective in giving up five years of Houck by also doing a catcher swap. More potential offense with Campusano to partner with Wong. I like it.

Red Sox should do this in a heartbeat . I think with the Devers deal done a trade should be around the corner. This would patch up two holes.

avocado ghost. Could not agree more. I originally thought a Kim for Houck 1 for 1 made sense but redsoxstats commented on twitter that the years of control makes that scenario not feasible but this one gives Sox a catcher they have coveted in past that they can afford to go thru growing pains with where Padres need the stability and experience that McGuire would bring. It is also equal control.

I also do not want to give up Rafaela for anything less than a Edward Cabrera type return. A starter with potential and 6 years of control that could grow with bello and Houck.
