I think the Sox tend to be in the school of thought of acquiring hitting talent independent of defensive position. I’m sure he can capably play 2b and the Sox have needs up the middle with Bogaerts departing and the story injury. Also, with the additions of Yoshida and turner and even Tapia to some degree, I’m noticing a pattern of valuing contact and low K rates. Arraez surely fits this mold. The twins are also looking for controllable pitching…

I agree Arraez could play 2B at near average ability. That’s not bad idea for Boston as currently constructed. But when Story returns…
I am pretty not sure Houck not enough for Minnesota. Duran is nice prospect but not to the Twins. Their need/want is for pitching.
BoSox would need to complement Houck with more pitching. or some other creative add-ons need involved. Just my opinion.

I’m kind of banking on Kepler being traded with their crowded outfield situation and them being satisfied with the depth that Duran can provide there. I think there’s a ton to live about Houck as he’s had a 3 era in 146 inn for his career. Also, not even eligible for arb until 2025 so lots of control there.
In terms of Story, he was ramping up as the shortstop prior to the surgery, so I don’t think a potential Arraez addition would be an issue. I already see Verdugo as potentially being traded so that can intensify as well, if need be

I follow the thought. Do you anticipate Verdugo heading to Miami ? Boston needs pitching even before trading Houck, right? or do they have youngsters ready to go?
Arraez not a fit into Boston lineup. 3B, 1B, DH filled.
Arraez was originally a secondbaseman, but the twins already have Polanco there. He’s about league average at second

Looks to be a moot topic with Arraez reportedly headed to Miami!
But yes, I think the Sox are very high on Bello and Whitlock and would feel most comfortable trading Houck for the right player
