This trade makes absolutely no sense for Milwaukee. It assumes the Brewers are going to give up on winning any time soon and tank. Since they aren’t tanking, they are not going to give Adames and Burnes away just to save some money on Yelich’s contract. It they were tanking they wouldn’t want Paxton who is a ticking time bomb with all his injuries, or Verdugo. They have many better prospects than Coffey. Walter is a decent mid-level prospect. Nothing in this trade would interest Milwaukee.
