Down vote for Oakland.
The A’s have emphasized pitching in most of their trades but they’re at the point where they need to start focusing on position talent. Any arms that come with should be heading the the lower minors.
You always need more pitching than you think you do, especially when your team is a seller. Dollard is pretty good, MLB adjacent but non roster, and Marlowe has upside as well. It’s a pretty good offer, you might not see another one like it unless Laureano gets off to a positive start.
OK.
I’m fine passing on Dollard/Marlowe and betting on a positive Laureano start.
Why should Oakland make a deal that doesn’t get them the players they want? They have an abundance of upper-level arms, they need more position player talent.
