I’m not sure why the Cardinals would make this trade considering they have Edman, Donovan, and Gorman competing for middle infield spots. Rosario isn’t a huge upgrade from any of them (a downgrade in the case of Edman.) With their need for starting pitching next year and beyond, I bet they want to hold onto Liberatore, who should be better than Plesack.

Nothing of value, tbh. The Cards have Dakota Hudson, who’s very similar to Plesac and already won’t make the opening day rotation. They’ve got plenty of backend starter depth. What they’re lacking is top-of-the-rotation upside

Honestly Plesac is really the only one with more than a year of MLB experience available from Cleveland right now…

It sounds like Rosario will be kept and honestly, I don’t see why Cleveland would move anyone from their bullpen or the other starters.

Cleveland is going to look to try and upgrade over Palacios, Tena etc… They also don’t have a great pitcher to position player ratio (18 pitchers to 22 position players). I feel like they are going to try and get another with pitcher with team control using a package around Tena and Palacios and then get a veteran to take the last bench spot…

I have a hunch that Civale could be had and/or maybe Quantrill in the right deal which would be an overpay. They have too many SP that need innings and they have 3-5 SP prospects that could force their way in the rotation because they are simply more talented. It’s quite likely that by 2024 Cleveland will have a rotation full of 1’s and 2’s. It’s insane to think about and I have never seen the farm so deep and talented in SP. Especially in the upper levels which indicates a better rate of success.

I actually have a hunch, since Cleveland still has Rosario, he isnt going anywhere…
